Love him or hate him. Novak Djokovic continues to make history in tennis.
Today, after an overwhelming victory against Daniil Medvedev the Serbian had won his ninth title in the Australian Open. A tournament in which he is the top winner by a comfortable difference.
This one has been the 18th Grand Slam in his career, including one Roland Garros, five Wimbledon and three US Opens apart from the Australian Open titles.
Novak is making it clear that he is not ready to leave the fight as he is the player with the most Grand Slam titles in tennis history. However, with that being said Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal both have 20 titles.
This could be the most important year in Djokovic’s career. With Roger Federer outside the court until March at least, and Nadal not feeling great outside Roland Garros, Novak hasn’t got much opposition into winning the next three Grand Slams in 2021.
He will have to keep an eye on the young players looking to dethrone the Big Three, such as Zverev, Thiem and even Medvedev.
But even they cant be sure that they will rise to the challenge of beating the Serbian machine.
