Motherwell FC’s annual ‘Ladies Day’ event made its return on Saturday, and it was a big success! With all tickets selling out, celebrity guests and appearances by the players and management team the ladies were more than happy.

Priced at £50 for non-season ticket holders and £40 for season ticket holders the classy event included: complimentary cocktails, cash prizes, a best dressed catwalk contest, picture opportunities with players, a complimentary two course lunch and a ticket to see their fixture against Ross County.
The event was hosted by Gavin Wallace with the help of Love Island star Harry Young and former ‘Well player Simon Ramsden.

Motherwell were able to beat Ross County as the ladies day party continued past the full time whistle. Dundee Gin, an affiliated partner of Motherwell Fc, provided Motherwell themed gin and whiskey to be won by attendees. Other drinks on offer included a customised ‘Well themed cocktail menu featuring ‘Twist & Shouts’, ‘Fir Park Martinis’, ‘Claret & Ambers’, and ‘Ml1s’.

Selling out the Centenary Suit is no easy task, having over 100 potential extra attendees that otherwise may not have attended the game is a big win for Motherwell financially, as well as for publicity.
The event was organised by Motherwell skipper Stephen O’Donnell’s wife and assisted by club sponsors G4 Claims, Cadzow Nursery and Manor Estate Agency who directly sponsored the event.

Overall, Ladies Day was an enjoyable event. The Cajun chicken meal was delicious, the original cocktails were a nice touch, the hospitality section within the stadium was comfortable and Gavin’s crew ensured the day stayed light-hearted and fun. If the event is able to go ahead next year, I’ll be sure to attend.
