Shining Stars Theatre Group are a Glasgow based performing school that had been struggling to find a home and had to hire different church halls, costing them money they could’ve invested into the group. When Claire and Tommy Cunningham heard of this, they sponsored the group and organised the free family fun day.
Owners of Balloons4U Glasgow the pair have operated their business at the Forge for many years alongside their daughter Lauren. The family knew the market had a big heart and organised the fun day that raised a whopping £3,156.69.

The family fun day featured events such as pony rides, a petting zoo, magicians, face painting, a caricaturist, face painting, character visits from kids TV shows and live performances from both the Shining Stars themselves and the Motown Brothers.
Tommy Cunningham said: “I can’t believe it in four hours we raised £3,156.69. It’s the best ever {charity event} in this place. We’ve done a few before but never over £3009. I’ve never seen as many people in the market hall it was chalk a block.”

Despite only lasting four hours the amount of money and awareness raised will help the Shining Stars shine that little bit brighter.
